About the Host: Grant Mercer

Grant Mercer is an Addison native with a lifelong love for Addison's coffee shops, local diners, nightlife... the kind of places that only locals know about. Born and raised right here in North Texas but raised on Addison Circle stories, Grant has a soft spot for mom-and-pop shops, hand-painted window signs and the kind of places where the bell over the door still rings when you walk in.  Around North Texas, he’s the guy who’ll choose a counter seat over a corner booth, ask the owner how the week's really going and leave with three ideas scribbled on a napkin.

Before stepping behind the mic, Grant spent a decade turning messy marketing data and shop-floor anecdotes into plain-English playbooks for local operators.  However, it wasn’t until he joined The Addison Thrive Initiative's mission to help promote local commerce in and around Addison that he found his true calling: highlighting the small, local businesses and unsung personalities that make Addison tick.  Hence, The Addison Thrive Podcast.

Grant has profiled everyone from barbers and bakers to HVAC crews and food-truck teams - always with the same mission: find what actually moved the needle and cut the fluff.  On the show, he keeps it crisp - questions with teeth, numbers you can trust, and, if you're a small business owner around here, tactics you can deploy before lunch!

Off-camera, you’ll catch Grant chasing the perfect cup of black coffee, timing lunch runs around brisket sell-outs, and hunting for the best kolaches within a tank of gas.  He believes every town has a pulse, and you find it in the little places most people miss.  His mantra is simple: take one step, today - not someday.
